FIAT is an apostolate of friendship and spiritual growth for women. If you are looking for a community of like-minded Catholic women to walk with you through the messy, blessed journey you are on, consider joining us on the first and third Saturdays of each month at 9:30 in the morning. For more information, please text or call Rosa Patterson at (240) 682-9916.
Every Effort is a men’s group. We meet at 7:00 PM on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. As a group, we may be engaged in a Bible study, a book study, or some other program designed to foster growth in faith, knowledge of the faith, holiness, virtue, or the spiritual life. We generally meet for about an hour to pray together, discuss what we’re learning, and share each other’s company, encouraging one another as disciples of the living Christ.
We want to be godly men. We want to be saints. To that end, we are mindful of St. Peter’s exhortation that we make every effort to supplement our faith with virtue, virtue with knowledge, knowledge with self-control, self-control with perseverance, perseverance with godliness, godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. “For if these things are yours and abound, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 1:3–8).
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament has been a priority for our group since we first started meeting together, and we encourage our members to spend at least 1 hour in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament each week.
If you are interested in joining us or would like to be included on our email list, please reach out to Chris Patterson at [email protected]

WINGS stand for Worship - Intercession - Nourishment - Great friendships - and Service. We come together on different days of the week, depending on what event is scheduled. For example, if we're having adoration and a game or movie night, we may hold the event on a weeknight. If we're going on a hike or doing a service project together, we'll most likely meet over the weekend. This is a group of adult men and women (18+ ages welcome) who wish to explore their Catholic faith through weekly meetings on various topics. We hold courses that run between 4-8 weeks long and have specific Lenten and Advent courses each year during the season. Additionally, in between courses we show Catholic-related movies or listen to audio talks on the faith. We meet at the parish hall on Thursdays at 11 AM. Each session begins with a potluck lunch and the topic begins after that. We have fun, friendship and faith!

Any ladies high school age and up who attend the mission of St. Dominic are eligible to join the sodality. The Ladies' Sodality mission is to promote devotion, reverence, and worship of Jesus through our Blessed Mother and to further encourage the daily practice of Christian living in our community and Church family. The purpose of the sodality is to serve and support the activities & programs of the Church. The sodality shall promote and sponsor helpful community activities for the good of the community and continue to educate its members. The organized activities vary according to year, but the sodality consistently supports the parish food pantry and the elderly and need of the parish, particularly as regards their participation in parish dinners, etc. If you are interested in learning more, please call the parish office at (240)681-3551.
The Blue Army Prayer Cell meets once a month, on 1st Saturdays. We gather for 9 AM Mass and the First Saturday devotions, and then go over to the parish hall for a light breakfast and our meeting. As members of the Blue Army, we learn about the message of Our Lady of Fatima and support each other in living out her requests daily. If you love the Blessed Mother, we encourage you to attend a meeting to learn more. A new from home group has been started for members of St. Michael and St. Dominic: The Sharers of the Cross! There are no meetings, and the only commitment you have to make is one in your heart. Members of the Sharers of the Cross unite their sufferings through Love to Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, choosing to offer whatever trials they bear for the salvation of souls and in reparation for sin. In a particular way, they pray and offer sacrifices for all the souls within our parish boundaries, and for the special intentions of our parish. Every month, members will be updated on specific parish intentions. They will be provided with a member handbook, a rosary, and a scapular.
We all have a cross to bear, a yoke to shoulder. Some are large, others small. Whatever yours is, make it one with Christ's by bearing it united with His Love, and your burden will become light. To join, or just to find out more, please contact Joanna Hellerman at [email protected] or call the parish office.
"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and lowly of heart, and you will find rest for your souls." (Mt 11:29)
