Prince George's county stay-at-home order expired on June 1st. Beginning June 6th at the Saturday 5 PM Vigil Mass, St. Michael and St. Dominic will be back to the normal weekend schedule. Praise God!
Update from Fr. Flum - May 21, 2020
Dear Parishioners,
The Archdiocese of Washington has informed us that
Public Masses at St. Michael and St Dominic are not yet permitted due to restrictions placed on us by our local politicians and government officials. When the Archdiocese gives us the green light to resume our regular Mass schedule, we will be notifying you via email. If you have not been receiving our
weekly ebulletins while public Masses have been cancelled, THEN WE DO NOT HAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN OUR DATABASE. PLEASE EMAIL US (
[email protected]) WITH YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS SO THAT WE CAN ADD IT TO OUR DATABASE.
At this point, it seems that the earliest possible date to resume public Mass in Prince George’s County will be Monday, June 1. We will be asked to continue to follow the now standard “social distancing” and new occupancy guidelines. Due to the size of our churches here in Baden and Aquasco and the number in our respective congregations, there should be room for everyone to attend Mass using our regular Mass schedule.
The dispensation from the Sunday and Holy Day obligation to attend Mass remains in effect.
Communion When public Masses resume,
we will use the altar rail to receive Communion. In this way, the priest or deacon can move from one person to the next, the communion line can keep moving and we will maintain social distancing. Each person will take their place at the altar rail six feet from the person next to them. Families can kneel together. If you are not able to kneel, you may stand.
May the Lord bless and keep you all, and may He bring us together at the Most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass very, very, soon.
