Are you or is someone you know interested in becoming Catholic? Or perhaps you grew up Catholic, but drifted away from the Church and now are considering coming back? Maybe you are an adult Catholic, but you have not received all the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, First Communion, or Confirmation?
All are welcome to come to Adult Faith Formation Class. Whether you are already decided about converting to Catholicism, whether you just want to come and see what Catholics believe, or even if you just want to learn more about your Catholic faith, we encourage you to come. There is no pressure put on those who attend; this is simply a chance for you to discover what it truly means to "be Catholic" and what Catholics really believe. Have you ever wondered why Catholics:
1) believe this is the Church founded by Christ?
2) believe in Transubstantiation: that the bread Jesus gave His disciples at the last supper TRULY became Jesus Himself, and that, in the same way, He becomes truly present at every Catholic Mass?
3) honor Mary, the Mother of Jesus?
4) honor the saints (who are they anyway?)?
5) think the pope has the gift of "infallability"; basically meaning, he can't go wrong when he speaks officially on matters of faith and morals?
We invite you to come at least just once, and then decide if you'd like to come back again to learn even more! Just take this one step at a time.
Fill out the form below or call the Parish Office (240)681-3551 to indicate your interest.
"When Jesus turned and saw them following, he said to them, 'What are you looking for?' They said to him, 'Rabbi' (which translated means Teacher), 'where are you staying?' He said to them,
'Come and see.'"
